This is actually the second book in the Harry Starke series that I have read but I wish it had been the first. “Hill House” was the first book I read and I mentioned in that review that I didn’t feel as though I knew who Harry was. This is definitely the better read! I now have a very clear picture of Harry Starke and I have gone back to read “Hill House” again and enjoy it much more. This reminds me very much of a Connoly or Stanford novel. Very much the “old-time”, gritty, noir type P.I. but with a modern attitude. Now I have to start reading the rest of the series. Bravo.
